Gary Fitzpatrick

Gary has been a member of the Estate & Taxation Planning Council (Inc) since 1991. He was elected to the Executive Committee in 1997, where he immediately assumed the Treasurers role for the Council. In 1999, this role was amalgamated with the Secretarial role and in April 2005 Gary became Vice President. He was nominated as President of the Council in 2008.
Gary has co-established his own business namely Comac Trustees Limited which specialises in meeting the needs of his private clients in the areas of estate planning, administration and management of estates and trusts as well as living services.
Gary has worked in the Trustee Industry for over 28 years having worked for trustee companies such as AMP Perpetual and Guardian Trust as well as the law firm of Kensington Swan.
Jeff Matthews

Jeff has been a practicing Financial Adviser since 1987, and has been with Spicers Portfolio Management since 1991. Jeff studied international economics in California, and then spent six years living and working in Sweden, where he specialised in the areas of investment, foreign exchange and international loans. On returning to New Zealand in 1979 he worked for a number of years in merchant banking.
Jeff is a member of the Financial Planners and Insurance Advisers Association (FPIA) and holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification. He is an executive member, and past President of the Estate and Taxation Planning Council of New Zealand.
Jeff has developed considerable expertise in the area of estate planning. He advises individuals and professional trustees on developing prudent investment strategies for family trusts. Jeff often presents seminars on estate planning, and pre-retirement workshops for companies and individuals. Jeff is a regular commentator on investment and financial planning issues, both on radio and in the press.
Outside work, Jeff has had considerable success as a sportsman. He was American indoor two-mile champion in 1973, and was awarded "All American" Honours in 1972, 73 and 74. He also represented Sweden in the World Cross Country Championships in 1979. Jeff is married and enjoys travelling, skiing, tennis and gardening.
Robert J Knox, CA

Robert has been a Partner with BDO Spicers and its predecessor firms since 1972.Robert provides management consulting advice to both large and small companies and has skills in management and financial accounting, trusts, valuations, business planning, mergers and acquisition, company restructuring, raising finance, strategic planning, review and assurance engagements.
Robert has gained a broad base of experience in the areas of wholesaling, distribution, retailing, manufacturing, property construction.
Sandra Macaulay

Sandra has spent the past fifteen years of her career working in the legal and trustee industries with a primary focus on investment management, asset and wealth protection. She has recently co-established her own business namely Comac Trustees Limited which specialises in meeting the needs of her private clients in the areas of estate planning, administration and management of estates and trusts as well as living services.
In her previous role with Guardian Trust, Sandra was responsible for the management of some of the Company's high-net value portfolios including many of the Company's largest charitable trusts.
Sandra is also on the Council of Diabetes NZ Auckland and is a Board Member of Alzheimers Auckland.
Lindsay Pope
Geoff Pownall

Trust Manager, BCom, CA, Accountant and member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants. He has more than 35 years trust experience working with NZ and international clients, having worked for the NZ Public Trust Office, the NZ Guardian Trust Company Limited and having established the NZ office of Asiaciti Trust before joining Anchor Trustees in September 2003.
Geoff is also a Justice of the Peace for New Zealand and a committee member of the NZ branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
